The CD is called ?Lazy Afternoon? and features Christian McBride and Alex Al on bass, Ray Fuller and Dean Parks on guitar, Gordon Campbell on drums, Lenny Castro on percussion, Everette Harp - saxes, Oscar Brashear ? trumpet, Perri ? background vocals, and me on keys. It?s a really nice album that I know many of you will enjoy. When I find out the release date, I?ll let you know. "

Good line up of muso's. Anyone heard of gordon campbell? It rings a bell, but I'm not sure.

That sounds like a killer album. I love George Duke. Such a great musician. As for Gordon Campbell, I've heard that name somewhere, but can't figure out where. Either way, I'm sure this will be a great album.

On a side note, I just picked up Jeff Bradshaw's album "Bone Deep". I definetely recommend this one if you haven't heard it yet Rudy. Lil' John Roberts and Erik Tribett on drums. Smokin' stuff!

and in fact, I bought mine on thursday. I was gonna mention it to you again, but I've already spent so much of your money on CD's, I thought I'd give you a break [img]tongue.gif[/img] Hey, I'm glad you've got it, it's totally off the hook! I love that track 9 caroline riddick tune, also 'lookin' and 'make it funky',( great james brown groove). But the whole CD is amazing. And erik tribett plays fantastic on it! I think that ride he uses might be a K dry light, not sure.

Another CD which I bought last week you might be interested in, Groove Collective CD called 'we the people'. It's from 1996, but you'd think it was made yesterday. It's ultra funky and the drummer has some serious chops going on in one or two songs. Listen to the samples here, particularly no.4.

Ah, yes, I had forgotten all about that! But I definetely dig the entire album. Not a weak track on it. I also recently picked up Musicology by Prince. It's a great, great album! Very funky, and takes it back to the ol' skool, which is never a bad thing if you ask me. This Groove Collective stuff is off the hook as well, and that Larry Gold disc is solid. I have to get them both.

Good stuff funky! Hey, girl singer in my band has got musicology, so for once, I can save my pennies and borrow it. I don't feel guilty really, I buy enough CD's to keep most of the music industry happy [img]wink.gif[/img]

By the way, if you like the N'Dambi track 12 on that jeff bradshaw, there's a CD of hers I bought last year called 'cosignin and tunin up'. It's REALLY good! Not so much jazz like that song, more funk mixed with jazz. You'll love it.
